Loss of Privileges

The Loss of Privileges (LOP) system is designed to ensure that students are held accountable for completing assigned consequences and meeting school expectations. Students who fail to serve assigned consequences in a timely manner will be placed on the Loss of Privileges list.

Reasons for Placement on the Loss of Privileges List

Students may be placed on the Loss of Privileges list for:

  • Failure to serve assigned consequences (e.g., Saturday Academic Intervention Academy (S.A.I.A.), detention, or other disciplinary actions)
  • Repeated attendance concerns resulting in assigned S.A.I.A.’s
  • Failure to comply with school policies or administrative directives

Impact of Loss of Privileges

Students on the Loss of Privileges list may be restricted from participating in school activities, including but not limited to:

  • School dances (including Winter Formal and Prom)
  • Off-campus lunch privileges (11th and 12th grade students)
  • Senior activities, including Grad Night
  • Eligibility for parking permits (current and future)

Additional restrictions may be applied as determined by school administration.

Clearing Loss of Privileges

Students may be removed from the Loss of Privileges list by completing all assigned consequences. For attendance-related S.A.I.A.’s, the following options may be available:

  • Attending scheduled Saturday Academic Intervention Academy sessions
  • Campus Beautification (3 sessions = 1 S.A.I.A.)
  • Lunch Detention (6 sessions = 1 S.A.I.A.)
  • Perfect attendance incentives (10 days of perfect attendance removes 1 S.A.I.A. and every 5 additional days removes another S.A.I.A.)

Important: S.A.I.A.’s assigned for disciplinary reasons must be served and are not eligible to be cleared through alternative options.

Expectations and Responsibility

It is the responsibility of students and families to monitor assigned consequences and ensure they are completed in a timely manner. Failure to do so may result in continued placement on the Loss of Privileges list and additional restrictions.

The goal of the Loss of Privileges system is to promote accountability, responsibility, and positive student behavior while ensuring all students have the opportunity to remain eligible for school activities.
